About Arcane

Hey there! I'm Arcane, a 31-year-old Canadian cat mom😊 I mainly grew up in a small city near Toronto, Ontario but I moved around a lot; I went to 8 different schools and lived in 13 houses. I lived in the middle of nowhere for 3 years and it was horrible, I'm a city girl through and through! I've lived in my current apartment for nearly 8 years, the second longest place I've lived. I have two cats, Emmy and Wilson, and they are my babies and besties.😻 I work as a medical office assistant for an ear, nose, and throat surgeon and I love it. I've been working with the same doctor since August 2022 and she's great, the work can be a lot sometimes but I'm finally getting to use my degree in full force and it's 100% worth it. 

Now the real question... Why did I decide to start a blog? 

The answer is simple: I have A LOT going on inside my brain 24/7 and I needed a place to express it. I'm a little uncomfortable recording myself talking to the camera so getting it out in text format was the next best thing. I have a lot of anxiety and difficulty expressing emotion, so I'm hoping writing a blog will help me work through those and maybe help me learn some things about myself. I plan on writing about both my present and past life, there won't be a set timeline so it may be a little chaotic but hey, this is more for me than it is for you😂 

What to expect:

Completely unfiltered stories and thoughts from my everyday life. From dating stories to my physical and mental health struggles, from family drama to boring daily routines, and everything in between. Anyone who's ever had a conversation with me will tell you my stories can be long-winded, and that's exactly how my posts will be. It will be real, raw, emotional, and an emoji-filled mess, with all the dirty and uncomfortable details. I hope you enjoy the ride 😅

Here we go, my first blog post! And the hunt begins

I went to the two apartment showings I set up last Thursday (February 1) and brought my dad along because, you know, stranger danger.😆 They were both basement apartments, newly renovated and the landlord/homeowner seemed nice, but they were both pretty small. The first one we looked at wasn't too bad but the homeowner lived upstairs with their 6-year-old son and husband, and they had a home gym on the other side of the basement. We could hear her husband running on the treadmill while we were in the apartment. Not a great impression. The second one was smaller both width and height-wise; the ceiling was maybe 3 inches above my head!💀  The layout was very awkward and honestly I don't think my queen-size bed would even have fit in the 'bedroom'.😂 The homeowner seemed really nice, he worked afternoon shifts, has a teenage daughter 50% of the time, and travels a lot, but the space was WAY too small. 'Cracked' head strikes again

I was not expecting to have a crackhead update so soon, but here we are.🙄 If you read my last post, I called the police on her last Saturday (January 27) morning. Fast forward to Tuesday (January 30), I had a normal work day, got home around 5:30pm, and as soon as I got home my little brother texted me asking if I could drive him to our dad's house and his girlfriend to her group home. As much as I just wanted to sit on my computer the rest of the night, I can't say no to this child I spent more time caring about than his mom (my ex-step-mom). They came over and hung out for 45 minutes, then I drove them home, dropping his girlfriend off first and heading down to my dad's house. I went in to say hi to my dad for a few minutes and asked if I could borrow his cat carrier because I was taking Emmy and Wilson to get their claws cut on Thursday.
